The Shower Scandal: Sometimes Accidents Are Meant to Happen

Two weeks ago, I had what can only be described as one of the most chaotic — and oddly bonding — experiences of my life. It all started on a typical Friday evening, sharing a quick shower with my girlfriend Sara. Living in a shared house with two other guys meant shower slots were limited and often rushed, so Sara and I had devised a little system of our own: hopping into the shower together during the coveted “last slot” of the day, when no one was scheduled to follow us.

Little did we know, that evening would turn into a comedy of errors that none of us would forget.

Four Housemates, One Bathroom, and a Whiteboard

Sharing a house with four adults isn’t for the faint of heart. With overlapping schedules, quirky habits, and clashing personalities, things can get messy — both literally and figuratively. My housemate Tom is the kind of guy who swears his greasy hair needs washing twice a day. Meanwhile, Jerry keeps a low profile but reminds us of his existence by leaving dirty pans on the stove and his facial hair in the bathroom sink.

To keep some semblance of order, we recently started using a whiteboard to coordinate shower schedules. It worked… kind of. Tom always managed to snag the slot right after mine, making me feel rushed. So, I…
